2023 - A year for epic adventures

Gamers, the second half of 2023 is shaping up to be packed with epic tales, cosmic scale and bloody violence from the depths of space to gothic landscapes and magical realms.

We'll be exploring five games that promise to blow our collective minds so join us as we delve into the most anticipated and hyped titles coming later this year.

Starfield: To Infinity And Beyond

First on our wishlist is Bethesda's epic action-adventure RPG, Starfield. Set in a vast and mysterious universe, Starfield invites players to explore over 1000 planets. With a mix of procedural generation and hand crafted elements we’re looking forward to seeing how it overcomes the challenges that No Mans Sky battled with for years. However, the game's deep customization options for your protagonist and ship look excellent and we can’t wait to see what the community comes up with. After watching the Starfield Direct the only thing we want is to raid the galaxy of sandwiches together with friends but at the time of writing, no coop has been announced. Listen to the people Todd!

Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 - For The Imperium

Prepare to don the hulking power armor once more and unleash a torrent of destruction upon the enemies of the Imperium. Sabre Interactive's Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 promises to be a relentless, blood-soaked, action-packed experience, allowing players to embody the unyielding Ultramarine. The game builds upon the success of its predecessor and continues its story following Captain Titus’ arrest by the Black Templars. We’re here for violence in the name of the Emperor!

Lords Of The Fallen - Unreal Power

In the dark and ominous lands of Lords of the Fallen, Hexworks showcases the power of Unreals newest engine (UE5) to create a gothic and atmospheric world that looks both fantastic and repulsive in equal measure. Improving on almost every feature of the original Lords of the Fallen, this rebooted title nods heavily to the Souls games that have established the genre. With a clever twist on the formula, players will be able to seamlessly travel between the world of the dead and the living to create both, a visually striking effect and some interesting mechanics and gameplay options.

Baldur's Gate 3 - An Elf, A Gnome And A Dwarf Walk Into A Bar

From the talented minds at Larian Studios, creators of the critically acclaimed Divinity: Original Sin series, comes Baldur's Gate 3. This Dungeons & Dragons adventure has been in early access for over two years and has been fine tuned on player feedback. Meaningful choices, interesting characters, and strategic combat mechanics combine to create an experience that promises to feel alive and responsive to your decisions. Larian Studios' expertise in crafting D&D systems makes them the perfect choice of steward of the series and we can’t wait for the release later this year.

Fable - It’s A Kind Of Magic

Last but certainly not least, we look to the enchanting world of Fable, crafted by Playground Games. A reboot of the franchise but as it’s been thirteen years since Fable 3 we can’t complain. The incredible trailer shown during the Xbox Showcase filled our hearts with hope and anticipation for this beloved series. Known for its whimsical charm, immersive storytelling, and very British wit, Fable 4 brings back longtime fans of the series with hits of nostalgia and newcomers with Giant Richard Ayoade. So far it looks like a game Lionsgate would be proud of so we’re hoping the series is in safe hands.
