Celebrating ‘the jump’

Logitech G are at the centre of gaming culture; we were tasked with producing content that expressed that idea, simply and to budget. Without the requirement to sell a specific product and no need to feature the brand too high in the mix, we were able to focus entirely on the audience. We thought specifically about the kind of execution that would resonate strongly with gaming aficionados.

Our solution was ‘Jump’. A video piece celebrating games by showing game characters, through the ages jumping. Sounds simple, and it is. But set to a rousing orchestral score and edited accordingly, it becomes more than the sum of its parts. Emotive, memorable and hugely shareable, the video jumps (literally) from the earliest coin-op hits through wave after wave of home consoles and PC offerings, right up to the present day.

The video gained a huge online response, racking up 1,800,600 views and counting. Viewer comments on the piece show a strong emotional response, with many mentioning the shared joy that comes through an appreciation of gaming nostalgia. This video represents the first piece of a continued campaign; there are a number of other videos on the way, each focusing on a different fundamental of the gaming experience.
