Louise Blain

A little bit about Louise

A games, tech, and entertainment journalist since 2011, Louise started her career as Staff Writer on Official PlayStation Magazine before joining GamesRadar+ in 2015 as News Lead.  Keeping the world updated on the latest goings on in the gaming world, she was also presenter on a weekly news show on YouTube. Louise was appointed Senior Channel Editor in 2017, and was responsible for the PlayStation brand as well as a presenter and writer on her own Assassin’s Creed YouTube channel. Louise’s words (and terrible puns) have also been found in GamesMaster, Official Xbox Magazine, PC Gamer, T3, SFX, The Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition, and Horrorville where Louise likes to think she channels her love of scary movies into something productive. Much to the joy of her parents, Louise has also featured on BBC Radio 4’s Front Row, discussing popular culture and sneaking in as many references to Buffy the Vampire Slayer as possible.

Why she loves what she does

There are two main differences between 1996 year old me obsessively collecting all the gems in Crash Bandicoot and 2018 me Hoovering up every collectible in Assassin’s Creed Origins. One, one of us has been fortunate enough to turn her passion for gaming into a career path and two, one of us can eat cheese for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and not have to answer to anyone. Constantly evolving with broadening open world horizons and fresh tech, the games industry is ever changing and ridiculously exciting to be a part of. I’m always hungry for what’s next. Oh, and for more cheese. Obviously.
