You can blame science fiction for the way I turned out. I’m of the generation that saw the first Star Wars at the cinema. I wanted a robot; my parents stretched to a Sinclair ZX81. I was hooked on home computing from a young age. The ZX Spectrum, PCs, Macs, games consoles, mobile phones: I’ve followed every generation, and revelled in how they entertain, inform and delight. It’s never been enough for me to be simply a consumer. I’ve always needed to join the conversation. It’s important to me to share the things that I love with other people and to help them get more out of the things that they love. Reviews, guides, how-tos, features, profiles, interviews… I’m only happy if I can take something I’m excited about, explore its potential, and find a way to communicate that with others.
